Given how low the overall review score was, I was a bit concerned about having this company service our AC unit per the home warranty. The moment I met JJ, I knew he was a good guy. He was very professional, knowledgeable, and patient. He quickly ran a few tests and found out the root cause. He explained what the next steps are given the service would be covered by the home warranty. I honestly thought how he handled the service call was a top-notch and wouldn’t hesitate a moment to recommend him (JJ). Also, I have seen a few complaints about the office staff but so far my experience has been just fine. I forgot the name but the lady who called me to inform the time window for the service call was pleasant. Now I need to wait for the warranty company to order the part so JJ can replace the failing unit.

Having American Home Shield is supposed to make it easier but it really doesn’t. Having Furnace Doctors on our side is the only thing that kept me going. They were helpful, responsive, and helped me. Honestly, it was my counseling session to calm down because I knew that after a call with Furnace Doctors, I’d feel better and be moving forward to a resolution. They let me vent and share my concerns. They validated my frustrations and they helped me get through my events and dates while we waited on parts. I know that if you give them a chance, you will be as happy as we are. You’ll be enjoying heat or cool air before you know it.

Furnace doctors was assigned to us and we heard back from them within couple days. JJ was our technician. He showed up on time and he was very nice and professional. I have no idea about how furnace works, so I had to keep asking him questions and he answered everything very patiently. It turned out our previous owner did some remodeling while furnace was on and it created a lot of dirty build up that ruined our blower motor. I got the most disgusting and dirty blower motor of the year award from him!!! Yay! My husband and I (and our cat) were inhaling this disgusting air since we were purchased this house last year. Yikes. He suggested “tuning” (cleaning) service which is not part of warranty. I agreed with him and purchased that service through furnace doctors. But most importantly, he showed up 2 days later with BRAND NEW blower motor and fixed my furnace! that was completely covered by home warranty and I was very happy and pleased with Furnace Doctors service. We started to notice house get warmer a lot faster! and last week, I got the most recent gas bill and TA-DA – our gas bill dropped 30 dollars! I don’t think this March was particularly warmer, so I give all credits to clean and fixed furnace. A lot of people complained communication with the company on the yelp, but I had no problem with it. I had to call few times during a day but always got call backs and everyone on the phone was nice and empathetic about not having a heat during cold time of the year. I would def continue to use furnace doctors for regular tune ups and definitely will ask JJ if I find any issue with my furnace.

It took a few days for the technician to come out to diagnose the issue with our system, but they quickly located a component that failed and thoroughly explained what had happened and how it could be fixed. This was on Thursday, and the repair was ready to be completed the following Tuesday. The technicians showed up on time, and were polite/professional, and we now have a working hot water system again. John was also communicative throughout the process, letting us know how long it would take to hear back from AHS, when parts should arrive, when technicians would arrive, etc. Based on this experience, if I had another issue with this system I’d be happy to have them return to my home.

They were so good that when my boiler had issues this year and my warranty had expired, I called them up. They are always so friendly and personable. Their guy JJ came out to diagnose and then it was just about waiting for my part to arrive. Once that came in, John called and got me scheduled right away. John came and did the repair. Yes, it’s frustrating waiting for parts to come in, but that has nothing to do with the great service I received. I would highly recommend these folks!

Scheduling on the phone was easy, and they followed through on their appointment window. The service rep (JJ) came on time and handled everything professionally. He shared tips on my furnace and walked me through the entire process. It was a great learning opportunity and JJ was fantastic! JJ far exceeded my expectations. I’ll admit, I was a bit nervous reading the reviews, but in hindsight, it seems the negative reviews are based on customer expectations for timing, which is out of the hands of a vendor contracted via an insurance company. The insurance company needs to approve the work, and no vendor I’ve ever worked with will take the risk of doing work prior to getting approval from the insurance company. I’d like to thank JJ for the time he spent on my furnace and hope that this review gives potential customers more comfort.
